ABOUT
Award-winning design studio creating liveable gardens inspired by natural environments, produced with sustainability and the future in mind.
PHILOSOPHY
Our philosophy is to create beautiful and creative spaces that are research-driven, focusing on planting environments and natural environments around us. We look to develop plant-focused garden spaces, that prompt us to get closer to nature within liveable, forward-thinking spaces. Retaining a connection with nature has been well-documented to have a positive effect on your mental and physical states.
As we see urban areas expand and intensify around us we aim to integrate a better balance between your home and the natural world around you, creating harmonious, beautiful, green spaces to enjoy throughout the seasons.
APPROACH
In 2019 Matthew Butler and Joshua Parker founded a partnership as designers and horticulturalists working together with a sensitive approach to every project. We approach each project as a unique challenge, starting by looking at the site and environment as it currently is and then producing a direction from your feedback and our site observations.
While working with your brief we look to create beautiful, practical and sensory spaces with the impact of the environment in mind. This is done by looking at the finest of details from multiple approaches with the desire to build environments that connect us closer to nature.
We work collaboratively with our clients, landscapers, makers, artists and other craftspeople throughout the design process to create a space that works for your lifestyle. By working with highly skilled landscapers and craftspeople to create the highest standard of hard landscaping that is combined with our broad knowledge of planting that will really enhance the garden and bring the space to life!

OUR BACKGROUND
MATTHEW BUTLER | PRINCIPAL DESIGNER & hORTICULTURALIST
BA (Hons) | Garden Design DIP | RHS DIP |
Growing up in Devon I was surrounded by nature and the great outdoors. This helped me develop a deep appreciation for green spaces around us and the positive effects they can have on health and well-being.
After deciding to move to London and completing my degree in Marketing and Psychology the importance of these green spaces became more apparent, as I felt that there was something lacking.
This led me to complete my RHS Diploma in Horticulture and a Diploma in Garden Design. Through this, I hope to share my love for nature with others helping to create outdoor spaces that can be used all year round.
JOSHUA PARKER | PRINCIPAL DESIGNER & hORTICULTURALIST
BA (Hons) Fine Art | Garden Design DIP | RHS Practical Cert |
Wanting to create a stronger connection to nature within our daily lives I was lucky enough to retrain in Garden Design and Horticulture at the prestigious Capel Manor.
Coming from a background in Fine Art graduating from Central Saint Martins, leading to a career in Set Design for fashion and advertising I wanted to take this creative experience forward to develop longer-lasting environments, that a broader range of people could use and enjoy daily.
We strive to increase relationships between living spaces and horticulture through good design with a strong sense of the right place when it comes to materials and planting within your garden. Favouring more naturalistic planting pallets we aim to work with you to promote rich combinations between planting and hard materials within the garden, looking at every detail within the design.
Working with communities
We are continuously looking to help out with local communities, some skills we have shared include building habitats for animal such as bird and bat boxes, helping to grow and maintain East London allotments and orchards in and workshops on Horticulture and conservation.
We are planning on growing on our previous experience within the local community hoping to work with young people, schools and charities to develop interest within horticulture and wildlife.
Please get in touch if you would like to discuss anything further.
