PROCESS AND SERVICES

01 / INITIAL MEETING

This meeting is where we get to discuss your plans and dreams for the garden. We will talk about how you would like to use your garden and share an understanding of how you would like to see the garden evolve, hear any ideas and styles you find exciting, as well as the things you aren’t so keen on. We will also talk about how much you would like to invest in the garden. The meeting will also allow us to see the space, and identify any opportunities and challenges that we will be working with. This will allow us to develop a brief and initial design fee for the project.

02 / SITE SURVEY aND aNALYSIS

To create a successful design we need to analyse your garden closely by looking at elements such as the aspect of the garden, the views that the garden has as well as the views on to the garden, the sounds that are heard within the garden and the environment that the garden is located in, as well as analysing the soil and recording accurate measurements of the space. All are key to the start of the design process. Depending on the size and levels of the gardens a landscape surveyor may be recommended. If the site is fairly flat, open and of average town garden dimensions this can be kept in-house.

03 / DESIGNS AND VISUALS

Once the brief is agreed we can then begin the design process. We will provide a detailed and well thought through design using multiple disciplines to create a ‘Master Plan’ to help visualise how the garden may look once completed.

Initial concept designs – We typically present a layout design plan in top views as well as 3D visuals and sketches of the design of the garden, along with material samples, mood boards and reference images. Following our presentation and discussion on the design, we will develop the final design based on exploring details from the feedback.

Master Plan  - Once the feedback has been refined we will present a detailed scale plan of the garden including planting areas, hard materials and any structures or water features. We will then meet to discuss the design.

We believe that every stage of the design process should be open and as collaborative as possible. This is an exciting stage where you really start to see how the garden will look and feel once completed.

04 / TECHNICAL DRAWINGS

Where relevant, once the designs are signed off we will create CAD construction drawings that go alongside the garden design to provide detailed construction plans for landscape contractors, craftspeople, architects or planning officers when building your new garden. The final design package is now complete and can go to tender.

05 / PLANTING PLAN & PLANTING

This is where we can increase the tone and style of the garden. Through this process, we will do the following –

Planting plans  - Creation of detailed planting plans with detailed visuals and elevation drawings, as well as technical drawings for planting placement.

Planting – We can also source your plants from respected nurseries as well as plant everything carefully and thoughtfully to ensure they get the best start.

For clients only requiring planting and a planting plan, we can do this for gardens whether small or large, where we can really make an impact on the feel of the garden.

06 / WORKING WITH CONTRACTORS

We will package all the drawings and plans, ready to invite landscape contractors to quote for the building phase of your project. Tendering aims to make sure that you see all the offers available and select the best ones to proceed through the build of the project. We can help you find contacts and recommend contractors we already have good relations with or if you have someone in mind that you would like to work with we would happily work with them.

07 / BUILD

While the build phase is in progress we can be there to liaise with the contractors and clients where necessary to help guide the project to our shared vision for your garden.

08 / COMPLETION & AFTERCARE

Once the design is completed we can discuss the aftercare options. We offer a full maintenance plan that is clearly laid out and tailored to your requirements and those of the garden, that can be carried out while your garden matures. We do recommend regular maintenance to ensure the garden is kept in the best condition possible and ready to enjoy all year round, similar to your interior. We also can recommend local maintenance gardeners if you prefer or if you are within our local area we might be able to take care of your soft landscaping, as we will not miss the opportunity to spend time in a garden.

Above is a full redesign process, however, can tailor this to smaller projects you might have, other services we offer are…

Designing small planting areas and window boxes – No space is too small! If you don’t require a full garden redesign or would just like a small area like a balcony or front garden reimagined, planting can bring any space to life no matter the size. We can choose plants for you that thrive in what may be trickier conditions to really help an area shine.

Plant Care - Needing some green in your office, home or workplace? We offer a plant care service that supplies and looks after your plants, creating a better place to live or work in, with us handling the maintenance and supply of the plants.

Remote designs/ consolations via video call – We have adapted our services to work remotely. By working with you we can create a process that works with your schedule to organise video calls and use images/video provided by you to create designs that help you make your garden dreams a reality.

Workshops and coaching – We can provide group or one to one workshops to help you make the most of your garden.

Working alongside contractors to combine our knowledge of planting – We work with landscape contractors and architects to combine our extensive Horticultural knowledge with their hard landscaping plans to create beautifully thoughtful space.
