BAKERS YARD | LONDON | 2021

LOCATION | A.Bliss, Bakers Yard, London

BRIEF | The aim was to create a space that can be used by staff and clients to relax and rest, providing all year round interest whilst embracing the seasons.

DESIGN | Front yard space

Wanting to make the most of the available space in the front of the workspace so clients and employees could relax and have lunch was a top priority. As it is a working yard it was important that the planters were on wheels to allow for them to be moved if a different space is needed. The planters were chosen to add height to create a space of being enclosed by greenery. The planting is low maintenance and chosen to focus mainly on the colour green and leaf texture to give a calming feeling to the area. A specimen tree Acer palmatum 'Sango-kaku' was chosen to provide Autumn colour and link the planting in the surrounding area with the front yard.
